About Jaz
Welcome! I’m Jaz, cranky, obsessive, and a lifelong learner who’s unapologetically in love with systems and the ways they connect. I’ve been a practicing witch for over a decade, and my approach is anything but traditional. Witchcraft, for me, is about doing what works and damn what anyone else thinks. Magic isn’t just a mystical practice—it’s a system, a model, a way of thinking that lets us shape reality itself.
As someone with autism, my life is defined by systems. My love for structures, patterns, and philosophical approaches to life naturally pulled me into witchcraft, where everything—energy, symbols, correspondences—fits together like a beautifully chaotic puzzle. My obsession with learning turned magic into a special interest, and influences like Deleuze, Guattari, Nick Land, J.G. Ballard, and Bataille reshaped the way I think about witchcraft as more than a practice, it’s a way of engaging with reality itself. Cybernetics and systems theory pushed me to see magic not as superstition, but as a real and integral part of how we experience and change the world.
I’ve spent years mastering energy work, sigils, candle magic, and tarot, but I’m still exploring new horizons. Ceremonial magic, thoughtforms, traditional astrology, and horary astrology are next on my radar. For me, the journey is endless, and every season brings new opportunities to grow, learn, and experiment. I’m not a teacher, not a guide—I’m a fellow explorer, just like you.
One of my greatest joys is seeing the spark of understanding in someone’s eyes when they realize how magical correspondences or the doctrine of signatures work. It’s the moment they see that reality isn’t fixed, it’s fluid, malleable, and completely “plug-and-play.” I want to challenge you to think deeper, experiment boldly, and embrace the freedom to create your own systems and practices.
When I’m not diving headfirst into witchcraft or philosophy, I’m living a vibrant, unconventional life as a proud polyamorous parent. I spend my days hiking with my kids, cross-stitching, writing fiction, or playing with my dog, Shadow. My evenings are filled with time spent with my husband and boyfriend, coffee (always iced, never lukewarm), and digging into whatever fascination has currently caught my obsessive attention—whether that’s mathematics, cybersecurity, niche legal cases, or polyvagal theory. I love hot cheetos and chili cheese fries, hate lukewarm water, and can’t get enough of Supernatural and Kill Tony.
Witchy Moons isn’t just a blog, it’s my passion project—a place to evolve witchcraft, push boundaries, embrace outsideness, and inspire you to do the same. Magic is yours to shape, yours to question, and yours to wield. Let’s explore it together.
